Courvoisier 21 Year Old

Postby Cognac Fan » Sun Sep 22, 2013 1:08 am

Today, celebrating my first day at the university by cracking this bottle of Courvoisier. Bougth this one in my beginnings and don't know if i would have bougth this today with the knowledge i have.

Lets dive:

First whiff i get peaches and oranges and also the sense of satisfaction i crave from quality.

Taste gives you these peaches and oranges with a bit of spice.

The finish linger for a while leaving you with a good impression.

This one is good, delivering some satisfaction but it does feel a bit thin at 40% abv. For about 100$ less i would go for a Frapin Château Fontpinot 1989 with an abv a bit higher and no chill fitration. The later is 20 yo and seem to be fuller.

The thing is that i never buy the same bottle twice, so this one is an added experience even if not the best.

Congrats on having an occasion to open a new bottle. As it tends to happen with me, the first few pours of any bottle are not the best. I drank 1/2 of the bottle of 12YO before I decided I didn't like it.
