Martell VSOP Medaillon

Postby Graybo9 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:44 pm

Good evening,
Along with many in this forum I have come across an aging bottle. Although I think it's 1967 or so through the power of the internet, there are some different marks on the label, (DF instead of a proof), & of course am looking for a rough value, mainly as I was really considering drinking such a well crafted drink, but thought I better check first..... Any help greatly appreciated,
Thanks,

Graham

Thank you for the 211 people who have viewed this, but does no one have any information?
I can only assume it it very rare, or very common & not worthy of comment!

Hi Graybo,

a bit in the middle: it's a more or less valuable, more or less common bottle. This is Martell's 1970s V.S.O.P., which is the second lowest grade in Cognac (after V.S.) and isn't that much sought-after. Then again, there are quite a few Martell-collectors out there and these regularly sell for 75 to 100 euros at auction, sometimes a bit more or a bit less.

The DF means that it was sold at a Duty Free airport, which makes the label slightly less common. Doesn't matter much for value though, apart from that it is a slightly bigger bottle as is common for Duty Free bottlings. 32 US fluid ounces translates to roughly 95cl.

Hope this was helpful,
Emile
