VINTAGE 1938 HOLLAND GIN. Anyone have any info?

Postby Cognac&Cigars » Thu Jul 04, 2013 8:48 pm

I recently acquired an OLD 1938 HOLLAND GIN. The Bottle is a Unique ceramic container and branded into the top is "J. Van der VALK & CO - SCHIEDAM". The front label says "OUDE GENEVER" over picture of a staute of a man. Under the statue it says "PIET HIEN" & below that reads "GEDER HANDELSMERK - J. VAN DER VALK & CO. - SCHIEDAM - HOLLAND". There is a criss-cross label around the neck that says in Dutch (?), then English "NOTICE: This bottle is only filled with our GIN, when cork, capsule and yellow band are intact -1938". The reverse label Shows the award winning prize medals for this GIN.
Can anyone give me any info perhaps on the company, the Gin, or even the proof?
Thank you fo all your help.
