Nose: This is really fine stuff. Chocolate, burning aged and oily maduro cigars, touch of ash, and fleck of pepper. Almost a little grape skin. Vanilla and some of that wonderful buttery fat and oil that you get in agave-based spirits. Rich butter cookies and vanilla cream layered wafers. Toffee/caramel. Really enticing - layered, rich, deep. Highly aromatic and just very fab.
Palate: Rather quiet on entry here. It reminds me of slightly thickened sweet water. Eventually, it yields a bit of sweetness with a hint of milk chocolate with flecks of cigar, vanilla, spices, and oily honey. It dries up a bit at the front-to-mid palate. Easy, but limpid compared to the nose, which set the bar very high.
Finish: Oily, oaky, sweet malty milk chocolate, vanilla, and that agave ride along very softly through a long, though faint, finish. Retrolfaction serves on well here. This would be exceptional if the palate were fuller and the finish 'more,' but the nose is just glorious and almost worth the price of admission on its own. It's always tough to put a point on something like that, but don't take this too seriously anyway. B+
