Nose: Rich, herbacious, honeyed, and delicious. Slightly bitter lotus honey. Twigs and verdant forest floor, after a healthy rain. Black raspberries, sharp lingonberries. It's delicate, and obviously a pomace, and any rough edges that it might have had have mellowed with age. Freshly plucked Grand Prix roses, and sticky sweet orange blossom. Lithe oak, ginger, and bergamot tea.
Palate: Quiet and plainly sweet on entry. Watery acacia honey with sea salt sprinkled in. Twiggy, herbal, and ginger/pepper. Some caramel, the same flowers, and fruit. Even the same tea, which has been steeper a few times. Decadent - not as rich or layered as the nose, but it'd be a marvel if it were. And it's nearly too drinkable as it is.
Finish: Residual flavors, some drying - not dry - oak, salt, and herbs (rosemary, thyme, basil, and mint!) It's complete, and winds up well-placed between the sweet, floral, savoryish salty forest. Finish is a bit brief, but really excellent. I hear tell that they have a real Family reserve that they don't sell... I can only imagine that. But this, well A
