Hi Wouter!

Well, Davidoff Classic comes up as a cigar cognac; it is produced by Hennessy and should be a VSOP related to age.

It looks very dark, with much caramel, as many other of these cigar cognacs. Even it is not meant to be drunk without smoking, it may be a good choice for people who like a powerful taste.

It shows a marked oak flavour, with a medium alcohol going up the nose. The taste is powerful and fiery, with tannins and oak in foreground, and vanilla shades, with a marked sweetness (sugar?); anyway it has a poor body, and a tolerable alcohol strenght on the tongue, correct for its age.
This cognac misses the delicacy of aroma one should expect in paler ones, nevertheless it is well balanced and can be a good drinking cognac for the winter.

A better but pricey option is its brother Davidoff Extra. This cognac shows a fine quality, but unless you are a cigar lover i would suggest better buys. ;)

A fantastic cognac that I had opened a while back. It's still bursting with scent of wildflowers. Notes of honey. Can smell this cognac from clear across the room. Oaky. 43% Abv. Medium length.

And this one from August...

I am drinking 'Davidoff Classic' today. The current production is a VSOP by Hine, if I am not mistaken. This old bottle was made by Hennessey, and for sure it's not a VSOP. With the complexity and mouth feel of this spirit, I am compelled to believe that it's spent over at least a decade, perhaps even two, in the barrel.
