Re: Cognac long term storage

Don, what about wrapping Glad wrap around the cap? Do you think it'll help much?

I've seen some old stores here having bottles sealed in those thick white transparent plastic bags

Re: Cognac Club in Hong Kong?

I'm not aware of any such club around in HK. At the moment its mostly private events.
Eventually if we do get a good number of members here from HK, perhaps then we could consider organising something.

Re: Hi from Hong Kong

Hi sake,
Glad to have you on board. I'm not aware of any public cognac group at the moment but would be interesting if theres one.
I am however involved in a tea group, if you're interested let me know.

Re: COGNAC GUIDE in chinese

Hi Claude,

Great to see some material in Chinese coming along since I read Chinese as well. So I suppose this book will be available during VINEXPO Hong Kong at the end of May? As I'm living in HK, please let me know how I can get my hands on a few copies.

Thanks! ;)

Re: Remy Martin VSOP Mature Cask Finish

I read here where it says "the VSOP will definitely discontinue in Europe, but will continue to be sold throughout the rest of the world despite its removal from the European market."

Re: Sipping Old Bottles of Cognac vs New Bottles

I like how you use the word marriage to describe it?
Yes I share the same view for your second point, thanks to the pressure from increased demand. Interestingly, as a puerh tea drinker too, the same scenario could also be observed.

Which makes proper storage our cognac even more important

Sipping Old Bottles of Cognac vs New Bottles

In theory, cognac doesn't age after bottling. Personally, I prefer the taste of older bottles (with my limited experience, older being 80s/90s) it somehow seem to have 'aged' and taste better than new bottles of the same kind. I've never dwell into it much until recently. Would be interesting to hea...
