de Montal 1990

Opened this one in August, on the occasion of our 25th anniversary gathering. Very full aroma and flavour, richness and smoothness. Served to several guests, most of whom were totally unfamiliar with Armagnac.

Oh yeah, a few weeks after the gathering my wife left me. Divorce pending.

Can't help you with the value, but beautiful looking bottle! Looks like it has a few decades in the rear view mirror ....

Re: Does Appellation Matter to You?

Interesting topic. It's true that most of us were "raised" to believe that Grande Champagne is the best, but I like your mention of Chateau de Beaulon, Pierre. Nothing wrong with that one.

Re: First buy, anything good around £50?

Just a "bump" re: Chateau de Beaulon VSOP (Folle Blanche), if you are in or near Winnipeg, Fenton's at The Forks has it for under $60. Saw at least half a dozen bottles.

Re: Delord l'Authentique (45.9%)

Thanks for the report, Pierre. I have access to the standard Delord (X.O., Hors d'Age, etc), and I am a fan. Maybe Fenton's will get in some of the specialty products. Cheers!

Re: Tesseron Lot 29

I'm very interested in that 1905/1906 dating possibility, on the other parts of the blend. Very nice, it it is true!
