Re: 200 year old French Brandy for Sale

The fact it has been laying on its side for the past 70 years or so didn't do it any favors.

Re: Trip to the Far East

Thank you for the suggestion on the Frapin. I'll take a look for it.

We will be in Bangkok part of the time, Udon Thani area and maybe Chiang Mai.

Trip to the Far East

Family and I will be spending time in Thailand. On the way back we will spend a couple days in Korea. Is there anything of interest I should look for in the duty free shops in Incheon?

Re: What are you sipping today???

I am curious about trying some Grosperrin, there philosophy seems appealing, however their prices are not so cheap nowadays... The only acessibles for me are the most recent ones. As for Camus I am also itcing to try some, particularly this Ile de Ré line. However I've read that because of the see ...

Berneroy XO Calvados

Just wondering if anyone has tried this particular calvados. From what I gather, it's aged around 25 years. I bought a bottle recently for around $30. I've had some higher end calvados, and although this isn't in the same category, it's not bad given it's price and its age.

Re: Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon

The problem with Pappy Van Winkle is that it has become "too popular." People were (and probably still are) buying it merely to sell it for a profit. PVW is good bourbon, but there are many more bourbons out there that are better at a much lower price point.

I just read your most recent rum reviews. Nice. I am assuming you are in the US. Where are you getting these rums? I'd like to get my hands on a few of these.

Re: Pyrat XO Rum

Rum is not sweet per se because it is a cane spirit, rather it is sweet because it is loaded with so many additives. Unfortunately, there are few regulations when it comes to rum. A lot of true rums can be compared to a good bourbon or malt whisky. However, if you are tasting a sweeter rum, there is...

Re: Maison Surrenne 1875 Heritage

Hi numen. I think I may have found a bottle of the 1875. I'm not sure why I am keen on this particular bottle, other than the age piqued my interest. I do understand that there may be some question as to the exact age of the spirit(s) in this particular bottle however. Though finding a similar cogna...
